What you won’t see is a shortcut. The patios are excavated to proper frost depth and set on compacted, well-drained bases. The retaining walls and seawalls are engineered for the slope and the shoreline they hold. A few things to look for as you browse. On the waterfront jobs you’ll see rounded fieldstone rip-rap lining the water’s edge, tiered fieldstone walls and stone steps climbing from the dock up to the house, and an excavator working the shoreline during seawall construction. On the hillside lots, tall boulder retaining walls hold back driveways and graded yards, with natural stone steps set between them so the slope becomes usable ground instead of something to work around.

Closer to the house, the patio work runs from tan paver patios with block fire pits and matching seat walls to curved bluestone patios tucked under decks and covered patios finished in gray stone tile. The landscape beds mix boulders, mulch, hydrangeas, and astilbe, and a few projects add a lit rock waterfall or a small water feature beside the porch.
